Murphy and Watanabe initially read as an unlikely pair. But on closer inspection, the two men share common threads: both have solid footing in Hollywood but have settled close to their native lands; both revere Nolan; both possess an alluring blend of feminine and masculine energies; both are handsome, well-dressed, earnest and, at least on this afternoon in early May, prone to trampoline fights and deep bouts of blushing - BlackBook Magazine, June 16, 2010.
For seriously, guys, Saito was stuck in Limbo for like decades. That’s gonna fuck a guy up. I mean, look at what it did to Cobb and Mal. Is there fic that follows up on this?
All I want is the sequel where Saito is keeping an eye on Fischer because he’s “protecting his investments” (or his profits, at this point), at first from afar but then he insinuates himself into Fischer’s acquaintanceship through increasingly weird things like reorganizing conference schedules and rerouting flight itineraries. They end up in Changi Airport’s Krisflyer lounge at the same time waiting out different flight delays. Maybe Saito is familiar to Fischer, but Fischer can’t quite place him. “The Mitsubishi Expo a few years ago,” Saito suggests, and Fischer nods vaguely. The expo. Of course, that must be it.
Then they talk shop. Saito is a businessman and this is strictly business, after all. Fischer was once a rival but now he is a potential ally, and Saito is not so much moving with the times as making the times move with him.
“They’re announcing my flight,” Fischer says. “Here’s my card. Let’s talk.”
“Let’s.”
Also includes: Saito’s tenuous grip on reality, Fischer getting deja vu and asking uncomfortable questions, dubcon, and Ariadne working for Saito, side-eyeing the whole thing and attempting damage control.
