Interesting question. idk, this ‘verse exists with a pretty narrow focus, which is the Jensen/Dean relationship (for a… given definition of relationship..), and even the Danneel relationship exists in the shadow of their struggle. The closest I remember other characters entering this ‘verse is when Jensen tries to tell Jared and Misha that something strange is happening, and they laugh and shrug it off, which so far has dismissed them from the narrative.

I guess this is not so much a ‘verse as it is a, uh… idk, but I feel like a ‘verse can carry many full lives carrying multiple stories, but when we go into fightclubverse, Amy and I seem to zero in on just one thing. Just this one story that grows and grows. I’m not saying there’s no bleed, I’m saying if there’s bleed, our particular focus overlooks that potential. So I don’t really have feelings or thoughts on Jensen’s Dean’s Cas feelings as of the moment, unfortunately.

What about you, anon? What do you think Jensen’s Dean’s Cas feelings would be?

idk i guess from what i’ve seen it seems this is an unpopular opinion but i would really love it if “exploring castiel’s relationships” also means he gets a love interest, like whether it’s with someone we know or a completely new character (A NEW FALLEN ANGEL? would the cw see that as incest? which i know many of us are fine with, but the cw is no the borgias is what i am saying) and like i fully admit that i’m not even sure if this comes from a logic character development of rational things place or what. i think a lot of it comes from “i like it when misha kisses people!!” place and its environs.

It would speak to like, Jensen’s dissociation with himself that he doesn’t see how this guy looks like him. Or not so much dissociation, maybe just a tenuous grip on himself. On reality? But yeah, Jensen with a gun and no memory of how he got here is basically one of the mainstay images of fightclubverse.

I’d also like playing around with which one is seen as the ‘evil’ invasive identity. Like, at first you’d think it’s Dean, because Jensen is the real person. BUT THEN DEAN IS TOO?! Let’s go all-out fourth wall horror. Let’s say Jensen is revealed to be the unstable one and Dean is the benevolent identity, and now I have an image of Dean helping people escape from Jensen before ~he comes back~?

But I also like Dean clinging to Jensen and Jensen’s world because it’s so much nicer here and he doesn’t wanna go back.

I had such weird Jensen/Dean dreams last night, which, btw, I totally blame on the Hannibal binge-watch.

I KINDA REALLY WANNA. Jensen’s internalization of Dean is fascinating in of itself, and I think although Amy and I began with Fight Club, it quickly went the territory of Jekyll and Hyde (particularly the BBC miniseries version) and now I happily roll it around in Pygmalion/Galatea feels ‘cos Jensen looooves Dean but like, in a weird way, ‘cos is it love or internalization? WHO KNOWS. 

One interpretation is, maybe the key Fight Club line was “I am free in the ways that you are not”, but this is not from Dean to Jensen, it’s a sentiment Dean would project on Jensen ‘cos it’s Jensen that has the awesome life, y’know, while Dean’s lot in life is absolutely shitty. And then it sort of becomes like that A-Ha “Take On Me” video where the animated drawing tries to escape his weird animated world and literally breaks through the fourth wall. DEAN, SLOWLY TAKING OVER JENSEN’S LIFE AND EDGING HIM OUT BIT BY BIT.

And like, does Jensen know it’s even happening? Is he scared? Is he fascinated? Is he like the zoologist that will get eaten by the lions he passionately studies, except he will become consumed by Dean?

Does Jensen fight back? Does Jensen want to fight back? He comes back from fugue states with mysterious bruises. Danneel tells stories about things they never did together. It gets out of hand. He wakes up with a headache to find himself handcuffed to the radiator, and Danneel is sitting in a chair across the room with a shotgun on her lap, asking him which one he is this time.
